Steve Norris

Steve Norris is a Non-Executive Director of Project Associates. He is both a politician with a national reputation and an experienced businessman. He was a Member of Parliament for over 14 years and served as Parliamentary Private Secretary at the Departments of Environment, Trade and Industry and the Home Office and was Minister for Transport in London from 1992-1996. He was Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party and twice their candidate for Mayor of London, outperforming the national party on both occasions. He now sits on the boards of Transport for London and the London Development Agency.


Steve has combined his political undertakings with a successful business career in which he has turned around the fortunes of companies facing dire financial and reputation ruin. As a high level business advisor, he has worked with corporations and blue chip companies including The Financial Services Authority, the Strategic Rail Authority, London Electricity, Jaguar Cars and Canary Wharf Group. Steve is a former Director General of the Road Haulage Association and has wide experience of both quoted and unquoted companies. He is Chairman of AMT-Sybex Group Ltd and Saferoad BLG Ltd.  He is a Non-Executive Director of ITIS Holdings plc, Ardmore Construction, Byrne Estates, Initiate Consulting and The Internet Corporation and an advisor to a number of other companies and public sector bodies on public policy and governmental issues.

Steve is also a Companion of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
