David Seymour

David Seymour specialises in politics and media relations at Project Associates. He was former Political Editor of the Mirror Group and his career spans over 30 years on Fleet Street. Since leaving the Mirror he has written speeches for government ministers and has been a political commentator for the Daily Mail. David also takes an active role in educating and informing students with lectures and seminars and is most recently author of “Reporting Poverty”. With his extensive knowledge and experience of politics and politics within the media, David is able to formulate incisive and targeted communication plans and strategies for our clients, who include governments, international corporations and blue chip companies.

Background

David worked on the Daily Mirror, Daily Mail and Today, and spent a decade as Political Editor of the Mirror Group. He was responsible for policy, writing the editorial column and relations with government. He was Readers’ Editor from 2001-2006 and founder and editor of Student Mirror, which circulated to 500,000 university students. He organised the annual NUS student media awards and has lectured on journalism at a variety of universities and training schemes. David is also a member of the Media Standards Trust review group looking into the future of the Press Complaints Commission.
