David Cracknell

David Cracknell is the former Political Editor of The Sunday Times, a post he held for six years. As a political thought-leader, his experience and expertise combines to provide our clients with targeted and incisive solutions to their reputational requirements around the political and media worlds. He has been covering politics in Westminster for newspapers for over 15 years, and has been a highly sought-after conference speaker on both politics and the media. He has chaired and spoken at fringe meetings and seminars, and is a frequent commentator on television and radio.

Background

As well as the aforementioned positions, David also runs his own consultancy, Big Tent Communications, and has already built-up the business with several major accounts. Previously, he was Managing Director at the PR firm FD (formerly Financial Dynamics) and Chairman of its public affairs division, where he advised Northern Rock on its recovery plan following the bank being taken into public ownership. He has also been recognised in the UK Press Gazette Awards.
David was educated at Oxford University, where he studied law, and worked on the university newspaper Cherwell.
